Las Vegas, Nevada - It was "bright" inside the Las Vegas Convention Center when LEDdynamics powered up "LEDZilla jr.", a 2000 lumen LED light using the latest drive technology from LuxDrive. Consuming nearly 100 watts of power, "LEDZilla jr" is considered a high-wattage fixture in the LED world and was created to demonstrate ways LEDs can be used for general illumination. "We really wanted to show people the illumination power of white LEDs for general illumination" says Josh Niebling, VP of sales and marketing for LEDdynamics. "LEDZilla jr." gets people thinking about the possibilities of LEDs for general illumination and beyond.""LEDZilla jr" is (32) Luxeon III lambertian LEDs powered by (8) 3021-D-E-1000 BuckPucks from LuxDrive, enclosed into an aluminum extrusion with a frosted acrylic lense. When using a 24VDC, 100W regulated power supply, "LEDZilla jr." produces about 2000 lumens and is fully dimmable. Built only as a proof of concept prototype, "LEDZilla jr." will not be available any time soon. |
